Renovation of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and 1,463-square-foot laboratory facility.

The Prequalification Questionnaire submittal deadline has been changed to 3:00 The Prequalification Questionnaire submittal deadline has been changed to 3:00 p.m., January 28, 2021 Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work: This Project shall renovate 1,600 GSF of an existing rodent vivarium, to prepare the space for the relocation of an existing primate population. The remodeled space shall consolidate the primate housing and research functions into one location. The scope of Work shall include the following: selective demolition; the selective removal and replacement of the concrete slab to add additional plumbing drains; reconfiguration of room partitions; upgrade of lighting; reestablishment of existing utilities. Existing finishes shall be replaced, including doors, flooring, epoxy flooring, ceilings, casework, and signage. The Project shall replace existing non-functioning air control valves, effected ducts and diffusers. Electrical power systems shall be reconfigured to the new floor plan. Code-required upgrades to fire/life safety systems in the Project area and repairs to building finishes impacted by the Work are also included in the Project scope. General Note: Please Be Advised That the Ucla Contracts Administration Office Is Currently Closed but Will Be Open for Receipt of Bids for This Project Approximately 30 Minutes Prior to the Above-specified Bid Deadline. Bidders Shall Plan Their Bid Submission Accordingly Only bidders who participate in both the Conference and the Job Walk, in their entirety, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B License (General Building) Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
