The City of Arcadia is seeking proposals for the design and construction of the Newcastle Park Renovation Project (Project). The work shall be proposed as a Design-Build project under the authority of Arcadia Municipal Code Article 1, Chapters 12 and 13. Following completion, the Project will be owned and operated by the City of Arcadia. The renovations will consist of installing new lighting, renovating the existing tennis and handball courts, demolishing and replacing the existing storage/restroom building, replacing the playground equipment, adding a new walking trail with a par course exercise area, and replacing two existing volleyball courts with four new pickleball courts at the northwest corner of the park. Other improvements include, but are not limited to, new landscaping, drinking fountains, park benches, and barbeque and picnic facilities. The Contractor shall also provide banners and signage at the park to inform visitors of the temporary park closure. The verbiage shall be submitted to the City for approval, and the banners (5 high by 9 long) and signage shall be installed at least two weeks prior to the start of construction.
