Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,900,000-square-foot, 26-story above grade, 820-bed medical facility.
The university is seeking approval from the board of trustees this week for the construction of a $1.79 billion, 1.9 million-square-foot hospital tower. The new 26-floor, 820-bed inpatient facility is planned for the area west of the James Cancer Center and Solove Research Institute, in space made available from the recent relocation of Cannon Drive. The building will also include 60 neonatal intensive care unit bassinets. Construction managers area a joint venture. As of October 10, 2025, project has been under construction since September of 2020, and is occupancy is expected in spring of 2026.
