Conceptual plans call for the construction of a theater / auditorium; retail development; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the demolition of a theater / auditorium.
CITY NATIONAL CIVIC AUDITORIUM LOADING PROJECT Plans call for to demolish approximately 89 percent of McCabe Hall for development of an expanded auditorium loading/unloading area, new loading dock, pedestrian exit plan, and a future commercial building. The project would also modify the curb area along West San Carlos Street and restore the west facade of the West Hall, an original element of the Civic Auditorium. Per the owner, as of April 3, 2025, this project has been paused for a few years and never received approval and is unknown if it is still being pursued by the city.
