**As of February 17, 2022, the project has been awarded to Sargent Corporation, with the awarded amount of $12,320,348.25.** Contractors interested in submitting construction bids of the Subtitle D Landfill Cell 7 Expansion and the C&D Landfill Phase 7 Expansion at the Buncombe County Solid Waste Management Facility, are invited to prequalify to bid in accordance with the Prequalification Policy established by Buncombe County. This is for the construction of the Subtitle D Landfill Cell 7 Expansion and the C&D Landfill Phase 7 Expansion at the Buncombe County Solid Waste Management Facility in Alexander, North Carolina. Cell 7 construction will consist of an 13.5-acre Subtitle D landfill expansion, including earthwork, 18-inch thick compacted clay liner, 60-mil HDPE geomembrane, leachate collection system including 24-inch thick stone protective cover, leachate pumping station and force main, piping infrastructure, access roads, erosion control, Sediment Pond No. 2, and site stabilization. Phase 7 construction will consist of an 5.5-acre C&D landfill expansion, including earthwork, access roads, erosion control, and site stabilization. Construction is anticipated to begin by March 2022. Substantial Completion is anticipated to be no later than November 2022. Contractors shall be prequalified without regard to race, religion, color, sex, or national origin, or disability.
