The work consists of furnishing all material, labor, and equipment necessary for constructing OCEAN BOULEVARD WATER MAIN. All work is to be done in accordance to the plans and specifications of Project No. 30212. The Contractor shall not subcontract more than 49% of the work based on the total contract price. The Contractor will be required to provide a list of Subcontractors and the value of each Subcontractor's portion of the work. The successful bidder must be able to show a past history of successfully completed underground utility/waterline construction projects that are compliant with the applicable permits and standards. Contractor must submit a list and description of at least 5 similar projects in the last 3 years showing successful installation of 10" watermain or larger. If a subcontractor completes the directional drill portion, they must provide a list of at least five (5) similar projects completed in the last three (3) years for 10" or larger watermain. An Underground Utility License or General Contractor License is required. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Invitation to Bid shall be submitted in writing and directed to the City of Melbourne, 900 E. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect and shall not be relied upon by Bidders in submitting their bids. Bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid. Bid bonds shall be countersigned by an agent having an established place of business in the State of Florida. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 55 days after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Bidders must include one original and one copy of their submitted bid. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
