Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Work shall include the renovation of the auditorium in Schaefer Engineering which is located on North Campus off of Hillen Road. Work will include demolition and new construction of the 300 seat lecture hall. Morgan State University located in Baltimore City, Maryland, is a historically Black institution with the unique designation as Maryland's Public Urban University. Governed by a Board of Regents, Morgan is independent of the University of Maryland System. Currently, the University enrolls approximately 7,725 students and employs over 2,200 individuals. Offering degree programs from the baccalaureate through the doctorate, Morgan has a comprehensive mission, which encompasses instruction, research and public service. Last Day for Receipt of Questions January 5, 2021 12:00 noon Responses to Questions Published January 7, 2021 When the Base Bid exceeds $100,000, each Bidder must furnish a Bid Bond with the Bid, in a form and by a surety company approved by Morgan State University. The bond must be in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Base Bid. When the contract award exceeds $100,000, the Contractor shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Liquidated Damages may apply to this Project in the amount of $150.00/calendar day should the Contractor not meet the stated milestone dates. The University reserves the right to waive any informality in or reject all bids and to make awards in the best interest of the State of Maryland. $1,000,000 to $2,500,000 The University has established an overall project goal of twenty-five percent (25%) MBE Participation. This means that after the overall project, the goal of 25% has been achieved or exceeded. The University has established Sub-goals as follows: 8% African American and 11% Women.
