The City of Kalamazoo is seeking qualifications and cost proposals from Consultants to provide professional services for the creation of a Street Design Manual organized by the Street Types set out in the 2025 Master Plan and incorporated into the Chapter 50 Zoning Code. The contract shall be in effect for a six (6)-month period commencing on Consultant's receipt of Notice to Proceed from the City. The City may opt to extend the contract upon mutual agreement of both parties made in writing. The professional consulting services solicited under this RFP include, but are not limited to, the following: A. Work Product Street Design Manual organized by the Street Types set out in the 2025 Master Plan and incorporated into Chapter 50 Zoning Code. These street types are: Priority Street, Main Street, Connector, Residential Connector (need to define through this process), Neighborhood Local, and SubUrban. For each street type the following information is to be provided: ranges, options, and guidance for utilizing the design elements based on street type, ROW width, sidewalk width, land useespecially impact of sections through Nodes/Downtown, and neighborhood character/vision.
