This action recognizes and appropriates State of California Per Capita Grant Funding of $256,662 for the Maywood Park Playground Rehabilitation project, increasing the project funding from $2,000,000 (funded by Park in-lieu fees) to $2,256,662. This project is estimated to cost $2,493,700 and the grant funding addresses the majority of the funding gap for the project, leaving a remaining potential funding need of $234,038. If additional funding from grants or fees is not received, the City will reduce the scope of work to stay within available funding. Per the owner, as of September 4, 2025, The City of Santa Clara released a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) solicitation for site assessments, community input, schematic design, a cost estimate, preparation of pre-bid/pre-construction documents and construction/post-construction activities. As a result, a designer(s) has not yet been selected, and construction/project timelines have not been established.
