As of March 01, 2021, this project was awarded to W-L Construction and Paving, Inc. in the amount of $92.31 per ton for 12.5A Non-Polish Asphalt; $82.47 per ton for 12.5 Limestone in-place; $3.05 per square yard of milling. The Town of Wise, Virginia is accepting sealed bids for the installation of approximately 1,470 tons of SM-12.5A Non-Polishing Asphalt in place and 2,450 tons of SM-12.5AL Limestone in place, and needed patch and preparation work for resurfacing of streets. Approximately 27,355 square yards of full milling will also be required on some of the streets. A bid bond will be required. Envelopes must be sealed and marked BID FOR FY 21 ASPHALT PAVING. The bidder shall also complete and place the following notation on the outside of the envelope containing the bid: Licensed Class Virginia Contractor No.Specialty. Faxed bids will not be accepted. The Town of Wise reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept bids in whole or in part, to waive informalities if it appears in the best interests of the Town to do so, and to negotiate with the lowest responsive bidder to obtain a contract price within available funds. MBE/WBE/SBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: President's Executive Order 11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; Presidents Executive Orders 12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
