Site work and new construction of a museum in South Gate, California. Working plans call for the construction of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
As of January 22, 2026, construction has not started. There is no construction start date yet. The project is not fully funded so there is no general contractor selected yet. The San Gabriel & Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for pre-construction/design phase construction management services for the Southeast Los Angeles Cultural Arts Center (Project). The site plan of the Project is located in the City of South Gate and unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County, California. The objective of this RFP is to select a consultant that is best qualified to perform the work described in the RFP. The contract will be awarded to the best qualified Consultant whose proposal is determined to be the most advantageous to the RMC, based on qualifications and proposed fees. The successful consultant may be awarded multi-year agreements on a fixed rate basis.
