Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in West Union, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 27,600-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

In general, the Project will consist of a single-story (approximately 27,600 square foot) free standing building with two partial mezzanines. This building will include general office spaces, parts storage, welding area, a vehicle wash bay, and other miscellaneous maintenance spaces. The general building construction will consist of concrete spread footings and foundations, prestressed precast floor plank, structural steel framing, architectural insulated precast wall panels, composite metal wall panels and a prefinished metal roof. The Work also includes fire protection system, plumbing, HVAC, communication system, and electrical work. Work on the Building shall be commenced within ten (10) days after the Notice to Proceed has been issued Each Bid shall be submitted on the Bid Forms provided with the Bidding Documents. No oral, facsimile or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bids shall be addressed and delivered to the Office of the Fayette County Engineer, 114 N Vine St, PO Box 269, West Union, IA 52175. Attention Fayette County Engineer, in sealed envelopes marked with the Project Name and Bidder name and address. All bids shall be sealed and plainly marked. Any alteration of the bid form may be cause for rejection of the bid. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, acceptable to the governmental entity, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract. The bid security shall be in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the contract and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally-charted bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally-chartered credit union, or the governmental entity may provide for a bidder's bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governmental entity. The bid bond shall contain no conditions except as provided in this section. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. Should the successful bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory performance/payment bonds, refuse to enter into a Contract on the basis of the bid, or fail to meet the requirements of this Notice and the specifications regulating the award, the bidder's security may be retained as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the date and hour set for opening of bids. When requesting Bidding Documents, please register your name, company name and complete address, telephone number (with area code), fax number, and email address. This information will be used to transmit addenda to all who are known to have received Bidding Documents. Copies of the Construction Bidding Documents may be viewed at the Fayette County Engineers Office, 114 N Vine St., West Union, IA 52175. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. Sales Tax. The bidder should NOT include sales tax in its bid. Sales tax exemption certificates will be available for all material purchased for incorporation in the project.
