The work includes the installation of a new 12" water main by horizontal directional drilling between Jonathan Drive and Pleasant Street Extension. The work also includes open cut excavations for connecting the directionally drilled water main to existing water mains, trench paving, and site restoration. The time for completion of this contract is 75 calendar days. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. Each General Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid. No Bidder may withdraw theit Bid for a period of sixty (60) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. This advertisement does not obligate the Owner for any costs associated with preparing or submitting bids. The successful General Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the contractor, before bid opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract.
