Renovation of an educational facility in Miami, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 250-square-foot educational facility.
Thornton Construction Company, Inc. is requesting bids for Miami Dade College, Eduardo J. Padron Campus. - Building 6000 Lobby Enclosure and Terrazzo Project. The EJP Building 6000 elevator bank suffers from repetitive damage from rainwater infiltration into the elevator shaft. These elevators are open to the exterior from ground level to parking level 6. In order to protect the elevator equipment, it is the intent of the campus to enclose the elevators with a small lobby (approximately 250 sq. ft. per floor). These lobbies are to receive a glass enclosure and become interior air-conditioned spaces. Apart from the elevator lobby enclosure scope above, the existing terrazzo flooring on the ground level is damaged and posing a tripping hazard to the students and must be replaced. The campus would like to remove the terrazzo and install a new durable material. Bond: 100% Payment & Performance Bond will be required for all scopes of work.
