Renovation of a mixed-use development in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
Advance Notice of Design-Build Solicitation University of Washington UW Facilities, Project Delivery Group, will be issuing a RFQ middle of March 2021 for the purpose of selecting the core of a design-build team consisting of the Design-Builder and the lead. Engineering Firm to provide progressive design-build services for the design and construction of the Power Plant. Equipment Renewal Project. Desired qualifications include experience in heavy industrial utility-plant renewal in aging, operating (during construction) plant settings. This project will include analysis of existing conditions (plant and service area), development of a phased long-term approach to plant modernization, and design. and construction to replace existing vulnerable plant. equipment as a bridge to future overhaul. The construction scope envisioned under this contract is anticipated. to include but not be limited to replacement or modification of existing boilers, turbine genera-tor, associated steam distribution (within the plant) and mechanical chillers. The service area includes over 200 buildings on the UW Seattle Campus and the UW Medical Center. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
