The Project consists of: Base Bid: Prep and paint exterior doors and trim. Where noted in the drawings, parts of door trim will be replaced with painted PVC trim; replace wood fascia with painted PVC fascia; prep and paint soffits; replace soffit vent screens; install new aluminum downspouts; replace areas of exterior painted plywood panels; prep and paint metal railings. There is an Add Alternate to patch cracked concrete steps. HAZMAT WORK: Lead paint and Asbestos containing materials were detected at each site, specifically the caulking. ASBESTOS: Limited areas of asbestos containing caulking will need to be removed. All asbestos abatement work shall be performed by a Massachusetts licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. LEAD PAINT: abatement of lead-containing components will not be required as per Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH)"Child Lead Poisoning and Prevention Regulations. However, the Contractor shall comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.62 Regulations with regards to protection of employees during renovation activities and regulations of the EPA, RCRA, and DEP.
