York High School Partial Roof Replacement and Coating: The removal and replacement of existing low-slope bituminous roof and insulation (approximately 40,000 SF), and application of a new semi-reinforced coating over the entire project roof area (approximately 140,000 SF). Also included is removal and replacement of metal gutters and downspouts, rework of treated wood blocking, metal flashings and counterflashings, and associated work. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than Five Percent (5%) of the bid, which may be a Bid Bond, a Certified Check, or Cashier's Check, made payable to, Treasurer, York County, Virginia. Such Bid Bond or check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the Bidder will not withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days; and, that if his/her bid is accepted, he/she will enter into a formal contract with the Owner, and the required bonds and Insurance Certificate/Endorsement(s) will be given within the allotted time period. The Contractor shall furnish bonds covering faithful performance of the Contract and payment of obligations arising thereunder. Bonds shall be in the form specified in the Contract Documents with surety approved by the County Attorney. The cost of all bonds shall be included in the Contract sum. The amount of each bond shall be equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract sum. The bonds shall be maintained in full force and effect until final acceptance of the Work by the Owner however the Performance bond shall be in accordance with Sections 11.5.1.3 and 11.5.1.4 below. The Contractor will cause the surety to agree to be bound by each and every provision of the Contract Documents.
