The work to be done consists, in general, of reconstructing and widening the America Avenue Disposal Site entrance access road, constructing a new right turn lane into the disposal site, regrading the existing ditch on the north side of the disposal site berm, excavating the ditch along the north side of American Ave from Plumas Ave to Humbolt Ave, installing two (2) 18" diameter reinforced concrete culvert pipes beneath the paved entrance, installing new chain link fences and gates, performing various electrical work including for the new gates, and replacing and lowering a segment of irrigation and leachate line. The engineer's estimate range is $1,399,000 to $1,546,000 Note that the pre-bid meeting will be conducted exclusively out of doors and that attendees will not be requested to sign or otherwise handle any materials provided or touched by County staff. Attendees are requested to each ensure that appropriate social distancing is maintained at all times during the meeting and all attendees are required to wear masks for the duration of the meeting. The successful bidder shall furnish a faithful performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount and a payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount. Incentives whereby the Contractor or subcontractor receives partial reimbursement for the wages paid to apprentices who qualify may be available. The incentive program is administered by the County of Fresno, Department of Social Services, Employment Resource Center. All questions regarding this project shall be in writing and shall be received by the Department of Public Works and Planning, Design Division, no later than 2:00 P.M. on the seventh (7th) calendar day before bid opening. Any questions received after this deadline will not receive a response unless the Department of A valid California Contractor's License, Class A (General Engineering) or C12 (Earthwork and Paving), is required for this project. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
