The City has identified a number of Stormwater Management (SWM) ponds requiring sediment removal, retrofit and/ or rehabilitation. SWM ponds have been constructed in the City of Markham as effective means of providing water quality improvements and flood mitigation in a watershed. With time, the accumulation of sediments in a SWM pond results in reduction of the pond capacity and consequently, reduction in pond efficiency. The sediment removal, retrofit and rehabilitation works for stormwater management ponds is consistent with the City's strategy to restore the treatment capacity (i.e. water quality volume) and improve the functionality of stormwater management ponds throughout the City. This Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) is a formal request for submissions from interested Contractors. Contractors responding to this RFPQ must be able to demonstrate expertise and familiarity of projects completed of a similar size and complexity.
