Harris County is soliciting bids for construction of sidewalk and bike lane at West Montgomery Road, TC Jester Boulevard and West Mount Houston Road for Precinct 1. The Sidewalk Improvements project will provide enhanced access to schools, neighborhoods, and transit stops. The project will provide pedestrian safety by addressing vehicle speeding issues and building facilities for individuals walking and biking on West Mount Houston Road, (6,883 LF), West Montgomery Road (6,514 LF), and TC Jester Boulevard (1,595 LF). The improvements consist of adding and improving sidewalks, and ADA accessible ramps. A bike path and shared use path will be designated along West Mount Houston Road from Bold Forest on the west end to W. Montgomery Road on the east. A shared use path will also extend along W. Montgomery Road from the Klein ISD school property to the Royal Mount Subdivision along TC Jester Boulevard. The proposed bike path is 7-ft wide and buffered by lane delineator dividers and the sidewalk ranges in width from 5-ft to 10-ft along the W. Mount Houston Road. The proposed project also includes three (3) Traffic Signal improvements that are located at the intersections of Antoine Drive and West Mount Houston Road, West Mount Houston Road and West Montgomery Road, and West Montgomery Road and Breen Drive.
