As of October 20th, 2021, this project has not started construction at this time. The summary of Work consists of a new pre-engineered metal building to store material and equipment for the City of Niles. The building is a cold-lit shell with a concrete slab on grade capable of supporting storage racks and the departments lines trucks. The building contains minimal ventilation, no plumbing and basic electrical lighting and receptacles. The site which the building is located on is predominately flat, where a minimal amount of site work is to be conducted with the main goal of vehicular access to the building. The Work will be substantially completed within 180 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run, and completed and ready for final payment within 210 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $800.00 per day. Deadline for all questions will be May 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of Bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Niles, an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base Bid. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders. The City of Niles reserves the right to waive any and all informalities and the right to reject any and all bids.
