The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and BC Wildfire Services has acquired a hangar at 5152 Airport Road within the Vanderhoof Community Airport. This site is the new Vanderhoof Fire Zone base and the proposed redevelopment will allow for future expansion as the needs of BCWS grows and changes to meet the demands of our evolving forest fire environment. The Ministry is seeking the services of a design-build contractor to undertake the design and construction of an addition to the office space within the steel structured hangar. The building has a site coverage of 1114.83 sq m (12,000 sq ft) with a finished 2 level (mezzanine) office area of 148.64 sq m (1,600 sq ft). The objective of this project is to design and construct an approximately 669.9 sq m (7,200 sq ft), 2 story addition to the office area. This will include all interior finishes, electrical, mechanical, equipment and accessories as required to construct the addition according to the Ministry's conceptual design drawings and specification. The existing office space shall be redesigned to include an additional washroom on the second floor; and the new construction shall include new office space, a reception area and crew spaces.
