The Dog Pound has seen no significant upgrades since it's original construction. The building does not meet their current needs and its location is not ideal. There is a septic tank that needs constant repairs and maintenance. The building would need significant upgrades that may make it more feasible to replace. Pricing below is for replacement which may include teaming with surrounding Towns to have a conjoined location. As of November 29, 2023, this project is included in the City of New Britain's Fiscal Year 2024 - 2028 CIP and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
