The General Services Administration (GSA), Central Heating and Refrigeration Plant (CHRP) (HOTD), supplies steam to about 68 Government buildings and chilled water to buildings in three agencies, namely Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Agriculture (DOA), Smithsonian Institute (SI). The uninterrupted production of steam depends heavily upon reliable operation of submersible pumps to supply feedwater to the boilers. The HOTD mission is to provide a reliable cost effective and environmentally compatible supply of the steam and chilled water to customers throughout the Nation's Capital. Major requirement of this contractor requires several repair items to improve the ventilation, weather deterioration and safety. Central Heating and Refrigeration Plant (CH&RP) has two (2) 4160/480V electric transformers, they are outdoor type, because of their location, a stream of water keeps on dripping on them to accelerated rusting of their housing. This contract requires to repair the existing housing or replace the housing with new. The housing to be fixed/replaced includes the main oil and coil filled vessel, junction box, conduits, footing, and all hardware. Prices must be submitted to repair the housing in place, install new housing/vessel and replace the transformers with new.
