Renovation of a municipal facility in West Unity, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Williams County Courthouse is a brick and sandstone structure built in 1891 in a Romanesque revival style. The 35,000 square foot building features a 160 foot tall clock tower with five levels. The Courthouse consists of 175 windows with 6 of them being large curved windows. The focus of this project is to replace the 169 with dark bronze aluminum frame tinted glass double pane insulated windows. Twenty (20) of which will be operating casement windows allowing every corner of the building to get air flow and allow access to maintain overhangs and service HVAC equipment. The remaining windows will be fixed. The 6 large curved windows on the 2nd floor east and west sides are proposed to be completely restored and reinstalled, with fixed glass curved storm windows installed on the outside to improve performance and including the restoration of the damaged woodwork around the west side windows. The current estimate project cost is $900,000.00. Any questions regarding the RFQ should be submitted in writing to Anne Retcher, Clerk at: aretcher@wmsco.org.
