Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Kingwood, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 43,880-square-foot municipal facility; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The Project includes the following Work: Contract #1 - Roof Replacement The general scope of work includes the overall replacement of the existing roof for this structure. Contract # 2 - Electrical Upgrades The general scope of work includes upgrading the electrical components of this building to proper working order and in compliance with National Electric Codes. Contract #3 - Environmental Abatement The general scope of work includes the proper removal of potentially lead contaminated dust and particulates from all surfaces throughout the interior of the building. Contract #4 - Site Development The general scope of work includes grading, paving and installation of utilities to construct a 550 LF access road, and a 4.1 acre +/- pad. The Project has an expected duration of 180 days for Roof, Electrical and Site Development, Environmental Abatement has an expected duration of 30 days. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Prospective Bidders are advised that the contract awarded under this bid is to be funded in whole or in part by the Preston County Economic Development Authority and West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection - Office of Abandoned Mine Lands and Reclamation Economic Revitalization Program. Contractor is required to comply with the "Buy American" Act. This will be covered at the Pre-bid and in the AML Section of the Bidding Documents. A two envelope system will be used. Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance, as outlined on this page. If such documents are found to be in order, sealed Envelope No. 2 "Bid Proposal", which shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 "Bid Proposal" will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. At that time, the Owner will declare the Bidder non-responsive.
