The Village of Marathon, Cortland County, New York will receive sealed bids for the construction of a Water System Improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore prepared by Dodson & Associate, PLLC, Consulting Engineers. The Work of Contract No. 7 River Crossing Upgrades - Water Mains is generally described as follows: approximately 420 linear feet of 12-inch diameter HDPE (north crossing ) and 550 liner feet of 12-inch diameter HDPE (south crossing) water mains by directional drilling of the Tioughnioga River; approximately 50 linear feet of 12- inch diameter HDPE directional drill with casing across US Route 11, approximately 1,500 linear feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron (Class 52) water main by trench excavation to connect the water main river crossings to the existing water mains, and cut/caps of existing asbestos cement water main crossings of the river. The above water system improvements will include required fire hydrants, isolation valves, sample taps, site restoration and miscellaneous work. Contract No. 7 - includes Alternate Bid as described below: Alternate Bid 1 - 12-Inch diameter HDPE Directional Drill in lieu of 12-Inch Diameter DIP (Trench Excavation). Alternate Bid 2 - 12-Inch Diameter Ductile Iron Water Main (Open Trench) - US Route 11 A plan deposit check will be required regardless of if Contract Documents are obtained from the bid planholder sites noted above. BIDDERS OF RECORD ONLY, within 30 days after bid opening will receive a 100 percent refund of the deposit price. All refunds will be made by the Village of Marathon. The Village of Marathon plans to obtain long term financing for this project through the Environmental Facilities Corporation Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (EFC- DWSRF). A pre-bid packet is included in the Bid Proposal Section of the Project Manual. The bidder shall comply with all requirements of the EFC-DWSRF Pre-Bid Packet. The Village of Marathon encourages the participation of MWBE Contractors for this project. Bidders are required to certify that bids have been prepared without collusion with other bidders, subcontractors or suppliers. Each bidder must sign a non-collusion certification statement included in the Bid Proposal of the Project Manual. The Village of Marathon reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any and all bids. Bidders are not to include sales taxes in their bid proposal on materials, equipment and supplies incorporated in this Project.
