Demolition and site work for a bridge / tunnel in Chestermere, Alberta. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Rainbow Road Bridge Upgrade project will replace the bridge nearing the end of its service life, and in critical condition. Generally, the scope of construction work includes: New clear-span two lane bridge with a pedestrian pathway Riprap placement along the Western Headworks Canal Reconstruction of two-lane roadway tie-ins and the new bridge approaches Removal and demolition of the existing bridge A 3.0 m wide asphalt multi-use pathway along the east side of Rainbow Road at the new bridge approaches, including tactile ramps A 4.0 m wide gravel WHC access road east and west of the new south bridge approach. Removal and installation of signage and barriers Signage and pavement markings Stormwater tie-ins Shallow utility coordination The design stage has been completed with Issued for Tender and Construction Drawings available in Appendix E of this document.
