Project includes rehabilitation and improvements to the Salt Flats Levee System per the attached specifications. Remove 130' Crib Wall and replace with a Retaining Wall to top elevation +13.0 feet (NAVD88).Repair Delaminated Concrete Support on south side of E. Port Ave. Closure Structure.Replace 5 of the 9 existing Storm Outfall Flap Gates with new Slip-In Check Valves. There a are total of 9 Storm Outfalls. 1 Outfall opening is a box culvert and other is blocked, hence these 2 are not part of the scope. 2 Storm Outfalls are inside the area of Harbor Bridge Construction. The City has instructed the Design Engineer to exclude those two Outfalls from the current design. The City will coordinate with TxDOT and Harbor Bridge Contractor for the restoration of SFL in that area. Therefore, only 5 Storm Outfall Flap Gates will be replaced with new SIip-In Check Valves in this scope. Remove Trees that could impact the structural integrity of the earthen levee. Investigate the 5 known pipe penetrations for issues that might create a destabilizing effect on the levee during a prolonged flood event (current scope includes CCTV and analysis only). The Design Engineer coordinated with City's Stormwater Department and Video Plumbing contractor to finalize the inlet pipe condition assessments. The CCTV results indicate minor to medium damage inside the pipes. Outfall 3 and 5 showed chipped bells inside the pipes. Outfall 7 showed broken part of concrete and longitudinal crack inside the pipe. Based on Citys review and approval, the 100% Design Submittal includes an additional scope of Outfall 7 rehabilitation by an addition of a flexible lining inside of the pipe. Reconstruct the levee from STA. 16 + 74 to 26 + 66 with a top elevation of 13' (NAVD88). The new levee top will transition to match existing elevation September 1, 2021 by 4:00 PM (CT) Requests for Clarification from Bidders are due, September 9, 2021 Responses to Requests for Clarification will be posted via Addendum electronically October 2021 Projected Date Award of Contract, October 2021 Anticipated Notice to Proceed The work is to be substantially completed within 120 days Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Maintenance Bond, and other Surety instruments executed by Surety. When in singular form, refers to individual instrument. The Work is required to be substantially completed within 120 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in the Notice to Proceed and isto be completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 17.16 of the General Conditions within 150 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
