Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Wichita Falls, Texas. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.

An intense cold weather event in mid-February caused extensive damage to multiple facilities on Altus AFB. The sub-zero temperatures over ten days greatly exceeded the historical weather patterns from the area and caused domestic water and fire protection piping to rupture. The resultant leaking water caused damage to Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, and Water Delivery Systems. Hangar 518 is a large aircraft hangar with high ceilings and large doors to facilitate work on KC-135, C-17 and KC-46 aircraft. The magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION OF WORK: A. Demolition: 1. Remove damaged sprinkler heads and associated piping. 2. Remove damaged main drain valves. 3. Remove damaged Victaulic fittings and pipe. 4. Remove damaged tempered water line to eye-wash stations. 5. Remove damaged pipes and fittings on domestic water system. 6. Remove damaged pipe insulation. 7. Demo water damaged Fire Alarm Control Panel electronic components and fire detection system components. Contractor to inspect and verify condition of all components in panels shown on plans. B. New Work: 1. Replace damaged sprinkler heads and associated piping. 2. Replace damaged main drain valves. 3. Replace damaged Victaulic fittings and pipe. 4. Replace damaged tempered water lines to eye-wash stations. Use copper tubing and fittings. 5. Repair multiple leaks on domestic water lines or replace damage pipes and fittings. 6. Replace damaged pipe insulation at multiple locations. 7. Replace water damaged Fire Alarm Control Panel electronic components and fire detection system components shown on plans. New components to be compatible with existing components and devices. C. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: A. The Contractor shall coordinate the equipment/material lay down area before the start of the construction of the project. B. The facility may be occupied 24/7 requiring close coordination with occupants. C. Install floor and building dust partitions to protect occupants and facility at all times. D. The contractor shall clean the project and surrounding areas at the end of each workday
