Scope of work: New 5,300 sf pre-engineered multi-purpose building which includes structural concrete foundation, pre-engineered metal building, insulated metal roof and wall panels, rough carpentry, hollow metal doors and hardware, overhead coiling doors, gym floor striping, rubber flooring systems, painting and coatings, fire extinguisher cabinets, signage, wall pads, athletic equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and sound systems. Site improvements consist of earthwork and grading, concrete pavements and sidewalks, stainless steel bollards, joint sealants, aluminum canopies, electrical site lighting, and pavement striping. The project consists of constructing a new preengineered metal gym building with associated walkway canopies and a new bus lane at the north side of the existing school; a new parent drop off, parking area and walkway canopy structure at the south side of the existing school; and a new parking area at the east side of the existing school. This study was conducted for LWA Architects. The site of the planned Outdoor Gym and Site Improvements is located at the existing Gilbert J Mircovich Elementary School. Specifically, the site is located at 2720 Big Oak Lane in Ingleside, Texas. The existing school is bordered by undeveloped property and residences to the north, Big Oak Lane to the east, 4 th Street to the south, and Avenue K to the west. A Site Vicinity Map is presented in the Appendix. The overall site is relatively flat and level. The surface at the north side of the existing school is primarily covered with grass, and a sidewalk exists within the planned footprint of the metal gym building. At the south side of the existing school building, the site is open and the surface consisted of grass at the time of our drilling and sampling services. Evidence of buried utilities were observed on all sides of the existing school. In addition, overhead utilities were observed along the east side of the school property adjacent to the south side of the site, adjacent to Big Oak Lane. At the time of our field investigation the condition of the ground surface was soft due to recent rainfall; however, it did not pose significant difficulties to the drill crews moving their equipment. Owner coordination was required for accessing the school property.
