The Project consists of improvements to the haul-road bridge crossing Kickapoo Creek on GPSD property - including, but not limited to, partial removal and replacement of approach pavement and expansion joints, filling voids under the approach pavement, cleaning and painting existing bearings, and miscellaneous guardrail repairs in accordance with project plans and specifications. Est. Completion Date: Sept. 1, 2022 To assist the Contractors in determining the cost breakdown associated with the various bid items listed in the Schedule of Items, Quantities, and Costs, the following descriptive breakdown is provided. This breakdown is intended as a guide for the Contractor's benefit and may not be complete. Separate payment will only be made for the items listed. All other work shall be considered part of the Contract amount. All sewers constructed using excavation methods, constructed by use of a boring or drilling method, constructed cured-in-place pipe or sewers cleaned or inspected will be measured for payment along the centerline of the sewer from the center of manhole to the center of manhole. Other bid items measured in lineal feet shall be measured along the centerline of the proposed pipe or the projected centerline of said pipe except for curb removal, curb and gutter removal, curb replacement and curb and gutter replacement or as otherwise specified by the Engineer. Unless otherwise specified by the Engineer, all costs associated with necessary seeding, sodding and landscaping, including any subsequent maintenance, reseeding, or resodding required, shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be included in the Contract amount. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the protection from damage of trees and vegetation shall be included in the Contract amount. Unless otherwise specified by the Engineer, costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the removal and disposal of trees and brush shall be included in the Contract amount. Costs incurred by the Contractor, not including fees and charges levied directly by permitting authorities, and associated with the acquisition of permits not provided as part of these Specifications or Plans, shall be included in the Contract amount. Fees and charges levied by permitting authorities shall be the responsibility of the Sanitary District, added to the contract amount and reimbursed to the Contractor as part of the final payment for the completion of the Project. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the compliance with laws pertaining to the location of subsurface utilities and structures (including the JULIE system) shall be included in the Contract amount. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the administration of the Project shall be included in the Contract amount. This shall include costs associated with the attendance of meetings by the Contractor, including its subcontractors or suppliers, with parties affected by this Project. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the repair of damage to either public or private property, caused by work performed by the Contractor in the completion of this Project, shall be the exclusive responsibility of the Contractor and shall be included in the Contract amount. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the protection of aboveground and subsurface utilities including, but not limited to, poles, piping, conduits, traffic loops and ducts as well as costs resulting from necessary coordination with utility owners shall be included in the Contract amount. Included in the Contract amount shall be costs associated with the securing of conflicting utility poles by the utility pole owner. Costs incurred by the Contractor and associated with the disconnection and subsequent reconnection and/or discontinuance and reestablishment of aboveground and subsurface utilities including, but not limited to, water, electric, gas and communication services as well as costs resulting from necessary coordination with utility owners shall be included in the Contract amount. Work includes all materials, equipment and labor required to clean and paint the bearings at the locations shown on the plans. All work shall be in accordance with General Bridge Special Provision 25 - Cleaning and Painting Existing Steel Structures.
