The City of Marathon is accepting sealed bids for WWTP Chemical Systems Upgrades. The construction of this project consists of labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the Installation of chemicals feed pumps and controls at the Citys five wastewater treatment Plants (WWTPs). The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, except timely submission of bids, to re-advertise for bids or to take any other actions that may be deemed in the best interest of the City. As a matter of information to bidders, the City does not bind itself to accept the minimum specifications stated herein, but reserves the right to accept any bid, which in the judgment of the City Council will best serve the needs and interests of the City. The Project generally encompasses the following: The City will upgrade the existing chemical feed systems at the City's five WWTPs. Each upgrade will consist of providing and installing pump skids, chemical tanks and controls. Each pump skid will consist of pumps and the interconnecting suction and discharge headers for feed of four chemicals. Each of the pumps on the skid will be individually controlled based on a 4-20 mA feedback signal. This signal may be based on the wastewater flow rate or on the measured chemical residual in the water. The work also includes installation of new chemical storage tanks as shown on the plans. The existing chemical feed systems shall remain in service, if practical, until construction of the new chemical feed systems is completed. If it is not practical to keep the existing chemical feed systems in service, the contractor will be responsible for providing and installing temporary chemical feed system at no additional cost to the City The owner has rejected all bids on this project.
