The Work generally consists of construction of a new transit maintenance garage located at 515 8th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. Bid security, as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code, in the amount of FIVE percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price. The work for this project shall be performed according to Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), 2021 edition, and the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, General Supplemental Specifications to SUDAS, 2021 edition, where applicable to this project. The City of Cedar Rapids, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. OWNER's Right to Reject Bids The City Council of the City of Cedar Rapids reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into such contracts as it deems to be in the best interest of the City.
