Demolition and Removal of Single-Family Home at 115 Van Buren St IFB #2021-13 The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (GPMTD) is seeking bids from qualified, responsive and responsible vendors for the demolition and removal of a Single-Family Home located at 115 Van Buren St. The scope of work/specifications is outlined in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). The successful Proposer shall meet the terms and conditions set forth in this document and all other attachments. Acceptance of any proposal/bid is subject to concurrence by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the United States Department of Transportation. Any contract resulting from these bids is subject to financial assistance contract between the GPMTD and the United States Department of Transportation and the Illinois Department of Transportation. Contractor will be required to comply with all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations. Introduction/Background Greater Peoria Mass Transit District seeks qualified and insured contractors for the demolition and removal of one (1) single-family dwelling and additional debris. The address of the structure to be demolished and removed is 115 Van Buren in Peoria, Il. The lot will be used as part of a larger construction project. Scope of Work/Specifications A. PROJECT OVERVIEW: 1. GPMTD is requesting the demolition of the residence and all additional structures and removal of all debris from the property. The residence must be removed in its entirety along with all debris, bordering fence,shrubs, and trees. The detached garage and all concrete slabs are part of the removal. 2. Project includes the removal of trees and fencing on adjacent vacant lot. 3. Priorto removal Contractorisresponsible forsupplying proper permits and IEPA notifications. 4. Contractor will perform environmental testing to test for asbestos and lead priorto start. The contractor will provide an alternate bid for asbestos or lead abatement/disposal in the event the residence tests positive for hazardous materials. 5. After removal, any area disturbed during the removal must be leveled, compacted, and/or filled as needed to restore the site to a stable condition. ADDRESS: 115 Van Buren St, Peoria, IL 61603 B. GENERAL WORK SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS In removing and disposing of the structure and debris, Contractor must: 1. Deconstruct the home in a manner that will prevent any debris from becoming airborne or otherwise affecting any adjacent properties. 2. Remove any and all mercury thermostats or other recyclables to be disposed of in an appropriate manner. 3. Debris from the deconstructed home shall be transported on a vehicle capable of safely moving the materials from the demolition site to a certified landfill or recycling facility. 4. During transportation, all debris must be covered with a tarp or fabric cover and shall be properly secured so not to allow any debris to fall from the vehicle. 5. Remove and replace any contaminated soil that results from the spillage of any fluids or hazardous materials from equipment associated with performing deconstruction or removal of the structure. 6. Take measures during the demolition and removalso as notto cause any unnecessary damage to the property or any easements to or from the site 7. Notify GPMTD if any damage occurs to the property during removal, before leaving the property 8. Dispose of all waste in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws 9. Locate and cap utilities, including sanitary sewer line, water, gas and any other potential lines. 10. Break up basement floor for drainage 11. Backfill basement with clean fill material and grade to meet existing grade C. PROJECT START DATE: FALL 2021. GPMTD expects the demolition to be complete by the end of 2021. D.
