The purpose of this solicitation is to award to the lowest, qualified, and responsive vendor to refinish the gymnasium flooring at the following locations: North Collier Regional Park Rec Plex Contractor is to perform the following services for the Parks and Recreation (P&R) Division. Contractor will have 90 days to complete project. Q & A deadline: Oct 28, 2021 3:00:00 PM MDT Scope of Work Repair, sand, refinish and re-stripe the Wood Gym Floor. PART 1 - SUBMITTALS Submit manufacturer's descriptive literature and MSDS for all material to be used on this project. This must be included in bid packet. Contractor must be a firm experienced in sports flooring field and have been in business a minimum of 10 years. Contractor shall be MFMA Accredited. Submit (3) three references for jobs of similar scope and magnitude that your company has performed in the last (5) five years. PART 2 - MATERIALS The floor seal and finish shall be MFMA approved oil-modified products. The striping paint shall be recommended by the finish manufacturer. Any and all other materials needed shall be compatible with and approved by the manufacturer of the gym floor finish materials, and with the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA). Provide the owner with maintenance instructions, including material recommendations for this floor finish and subsequent recoating's. PART 3 - REFINISHING This contractor or owner shall provide facilities for receiving and unloading his deliveries at the site. Normal ventilation will be provided while this work is in progress by the owner. The contractor will be responsible for dust collection and a portable ventilation system. The entire gym floor shall be machine and hand sanded as necessary to remove all existing game lines and finishes, and to a smooth surface. Contractor must use a minimum of 3 (40, 60, & 100 grit) types of sandpaper, and the floor must be sanded until it is uniformly dull. Vacuum and tack with a clean cloth immediately before applying finish. Refinish the gym floor as follows: Apply one coat of seal and allow to dry. Machine buff, vacuum, and tack. Apply second coat of seal and buff the floor. Apply the game lines and graphics and allow to dry. Abrade paint and buff. Apply one coat of floor finish and allow to dry. Buff with steel wool and tack rag. Apply a second coat of floor finish and allow to dry. Final dusting and cleanup of areas will be by the contractor. The game lines and graphics shall be applied to match existing. The courts shall meet the requirements of the appropriate athletic associations and as directed by the owner. Line colors shall be selected from the manufacturer's standard colors as determined by the owner. All work is to be in accordance with the Maple Flooring Manufacturer's Association (MFMA) guidelines and recommendations. PART 5 - CLEAN UP A. Do not cover wood flooring after finishing until finish reaches full cure. B. All trash, excess materials, etc., shall be cleaned up, removed from the site, and disposed of properly and legally by contractor. PART 6 - WARRANTY Contractor must provide workmanship warranty for a period of one (1) year after date of substantial completion. **All work must comply with Collier County Vertical Standards (CCVS) and the Florida Building Code** *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
