For Wall Undermining Repair The contracted services will include the placement of concrete formwork and concrete below an existing timber boardwalk as described in the SFQ for Wall Undermining Repair at Pier 10 and are anticipated to begin on or about December 1, 2021 and completed in approximately 10 weeks The EDIC seeks a General Contractor to perform repairs to the pier's concrete foundation located at Pier 10 as designed by Childs Engineering Inc. The concrete wall supports the wood timber deck at Pier 10. In service for over 75 years, the wall is deteriorated due to wave and tidal action. Its foundation is undermined and has a gap of one to three feet between the bottom of the wall and the cobble base below. This repair will address the most accessible portion of the wall, as the wall's west end cannot be easily accessed and is not included in this solicitation. The deteriorated east portion of wall addressed by this solicitation is approximately 135 linear feet in length and can be accessed from below the deck from the east end facing the Harbor. Thirty-five (35) linear feet of the length is more significantly eroded than the other 100 linear feet. This solicitation requests separate itemized quotes for each of the two conditions. large rocks immediately at the base of the wall will be repositioned to make clear for the placement of concrete formwork; concrete mix will be placed via hose and pumper truck; formwork removed
