As of January 20, 2022, a design engineer has been selected. No firm timeline has been established for the construction. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference Catawissa Water Authority is requesting proposals for the purchase of engineering services for a flood mitigation elevation project. It includes the entire project from developing and evaluating options and design to final inspection. The Authority's two main water supply wells, the building that houses their controls and disinfection systems, and the portable generator for these wells, are located in a flood zone. During flood events the road to this building and the entry door are inaccessible. Additionally, these wells' casings are subject to submersion during some flood events, making them unavailable for a minimum of two days, post flood, for disinfection purposes. The capability to utilize these wells is severely impeded during and after a flood event. Construct an elevation project that will provide continued accessibility and capability to utilize these wells during flood events. Questions may be submitted until 12:00 pm, Friday, November 12, 2021, either electronically through Clarification tab, or by contacting Cindy Bachman. The Authority will hold a special meeting by November 24, 2021, to evaluate and award the proposal. The Authority has the right to reject or accept any or all proposals. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
