Renovation of an educational facility in Buffalo, New York. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The State University Construction Fund is seeking statements of qualifications from firms to provide Construction Management Services for the following project: Built in 1972, the Classroom Building is a three story, 106,000 +/- square foot structure. It's MEP and envelop components are original and in poor condition and all are nearing or past their useful lives and in need of replacement or major rehabilitation. Further most of the building structural system is coated with asbestos containing fire proofing, which in turn has made the process of maintaining the building's systems that are behind ceilings and walls both costly and time consuming. will consist of a full gut demolition of all interior and building envelope components including MEP systems and associated hazardous materials abatement. This phase will also construct the new exterior envelope of the building and provide temporary heating, lighting and fire safety systems to serve the building until permanent systems are installed in Project 031036-00. Project 031036-00 will consist of a fitout of all interior spaces and finishes and install all of the permanent MEP systems for the building. This phase will also address adjacent site utility deficiencies, construct new sidewalks and entrance plaza and restore the site disturbed by construction activities. The Campus will provide equipment and furnishings through separate contracts. The Project will qualify for a minimum USGBC LEED Silver rating and will comply with the Funds Directive 1B-2 Net Zero Carbon New Buildings and Deep Energy Retrofits of Existing Buildings. Submissions should emphasize the firms significant past experience in providing construction phase CM services for public institutions and institutional clients in a complete and expeditious manner. The Fund's SDVOB participation goal for this project is 6% SDV
