Site work for a municipal facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Material Recovery Facility (LEX-MRF) currently processes over 37,000 tons of Comingled Materials annually. With growth anticipated and in an effort to increase efficiency, work toward baler redundancy, LEX MRF is accepting proposals to overhaul/Re-Line the existing baler. The existing baler has baled approximately 250,000 tons of material. The LEX-MRF is currently scheduled for an upgrade and operations will be shut down December 13, 2021 - March 1, 2022. It is imperative the baler re-line is completed during this down-time and the schedule will need to be coordinated with the upgrade vendor, Machinex. The scope of work includes the following: 1. Disconnect and remove gather cylinder. 2. Disconnect and remove gather and ejector rams. 3. Remove all liners from charge and bale chambers. 4. Remove all wear plates from gather and ejector rams. 5. Remove shear beam and ram knives. 6. Prepare baler and rams for new liners and wear plates. 7. Install new liners in charge and bale chambers. 8. Install new wear plates on gather and ejector rams. 9. Reinstall gather and ejector rams. 10. Install gather cylinder. 11. Install new shear and ram knives. 12. Reassemble machine. 13. Shim and adjust machine to proper clearances. 14. Test run machine for proper operation
