Site work for a civil project in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and development.

As of January 28, 2022, the project was awarded to North State Environmental. Bid amount received is $240,833.05. **As of January 14, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. The project is schedule to be awarded on 1/20/2022. Forsyth County reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding and to reject any or all proposals. Bidders must be properly licensed - at time of bid - in accordance with Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes. 100% Performance & Payment Bonds will be required of the awarded contractor. Technical questions must be submitted in writing to Darren Redfield at darrenmr@cityofws.org by 5:00 PM, December 8, 2021. M/WBE goal is 10% combined under Forsyth Countys program. Construction period will be early January to mid-March 2022. This project is for Forsyth County Soil & Conservation with assistance from the Resource Institute. See project description and qualifications next page. This project will remove woody debris and stabilize streambanks at three locations in Forsyth County affected by Hurricane Florence: 1. Buffalo Creek on two farms near Germantown Road. 2. Tributary to Salem Creek on residential property in Winston-Salem. 3. Tributary to Abbotts Creek on residential property in Kernersville. The SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not limited to, the following: Site work including Clearing & Grubbing, Erosion Control and Grading. Removal of trees, branches, and root balls from stream channels. Hauling of wood debris to approved disposal area. Burning of wood debris in approved manner. Stabilizing streambanks with rock and wood toe revetments. Installing log vane structures to divert stream flow energy away from streambanks. Installing erosion control matting on graded streambanks. Establishing permanent vegetation including grasses, shrubs, and trees along streambanks. Complying with environmental permit conditions protecting water quality.
