Project no: 190299-05-05 The work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of two new insertion flow meters in new vaults on existing potable water transmission mains at the Water Treatment Plant, including electrical work to provide power and controls to the meters, and all related work necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. Sufficient proof of liability and workmen's compensation must be furnished to satisfy requirements of the City of Aurora. All bids must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act; and the Prevailing Rate of Hourly Wages in the City of Aurora shall be paid to all persons on the project. To qualify, bidders are required to meet the requirements in Document 00200 - Instructions to Bidders. Questions regarding the bids are to be sent to the Director of Purchasing at purchasingDL@aurora.il.us. All questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail by 5:00 p.m., December 14, 2021. Questions will be answered via bid addendum by 5:00 p.m. December 17, 2021. Except at the pre-bid meeting, NO questions will be accepted or answered verbally. No questions will be accepted after December 14, 2021, 5:00 p.m. Any Bidder who owes the City money may be disqualified at the City's discretion. The City of Aurora encourages minority business firms to submit bids and encourages the successful bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract. The City of Aurora reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or parts thereof, and to waive any technicality, informality or irregularity in the Bids received, and to disregard all nonconforming or conditional Bids or counter-proposals and to hold the best Bids for ninety (90) days from the opening date set forth above. The City further reserves the right to award the Bid to the lowest responsible Bidder whose offer best responds in quality, fitness and capacity to the requirements of the proposed work or usage and therefore is in the best interest of the City.
