As of February 1, 2022, the project has been awarded to Reith-Riley Construction for $31,425.70. The bids must include all labor, tool, and equipment necessary to the construction of the above-referenced project. Any bids submitted late will be returned to the Bidder unopened. All bids shall be submitted on the Town of Chesterton's Bid Form and shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashiers or certified check payable to the Town of Chesterton in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The Chesterton Town Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive minor defects in bids, or to re-advertise for bids. The Bidder shall furnish and apply approximately 8,500 tons ofHMA on certain designated streets. In order to evaluate the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, the Total Bid Price on the attached Bid Tabulation will be used. Utilizing this formula as the contract figure does not bind the Town of Chesterton to utilize 8,500 tons of asphalt but, rather, the amount utilized shall be determined in the sole discretion ofthe Town ofChesterton. The Street Commissioner shall have final determination ofthe amount of asphalt used on the designated streets. The weight of the asphalt material will be accurately measured by an INDOT certified scale and verified by the submission of a weight ticket from the bidder that shows the weight (tonnage) ofthe asphalt material delivered and placed on certain designated roads in the Town ofChesterton.
