Renovation of a medical facility in Santa Cruz, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

This project is for licensed contractors with a Type C9, General Building Contractors License to resolve HIPPA compliance issues, 1st floor walls have been selected that adjoin spaces where it presents opportunity for others to hear discussions between Doctor/Nurse/Other with the patient. After removing any wall hung FF&E and/or fire life safety devices, a 1/2" sound attenuation sheetrock will be installed on both sides of common walls depending upon location and usage of said adjoining room. Application will be both below and above ceiling grid. Above ceiling walls will be insulated. On ceiling gird an R19 insulation shall be placed to further absorb any reverberation. The 2nd Floor mitigating measures are scoped differently. Walls are not framed from floor to concrete deck above. Walls are the existing from when the Facility was built in the 1950's. Ceiling grid and tile panels along the targeted common walls between treatment rooms shall be removed for access to the above ceiling wall conditions. Walls shall be platform framed to the deck above and R13 insulation placed prior to installing sound attenuation sheetrock on both sides of the metal stud wall. Stud shall be 20guage. Sheetrock will not be sound caulked, taped, or finished. Sheetrock will not be painted. Fire caulking is required. Place R19 insulation at a distance of 4ft off the common wall for the length of the wall to further mitigate sound transmission. Reset ceiling tiles and grid The Contractor shall complete all or any designated portions of the work called for under the contract in all parts and requirements within 60 working days (except as modified in the technical specifications). The County, through General Services Department, reserves the right to reject any or all bids received as the public good may require. There are "Liquidated Damages" of $100/day for the time exceeding the successful Bidders submitted and accepted project schedule.
