The project will be listed as Town of Winchester, North Reservoir Dam Gatehouse and Dam Improvements Lower reservoir level to el. 131 from el. 140. o Install and maintain perimeter erosion and sedimentation controls along the limits of work for the duration of the project. o Complete additional site preparation activities including stabilized entrance pad construction, placement of swamps mats in wetlands and along reservoir edge. o Install a temporary flow bypass system from the reservoir to the primary spillway. o Submit designs as required by the project specifications, including for support of excavation and dewatering. o Cut trees, remove stumps and root systems, and clear and grub the ground surface as indicated in the contract documents. o Perform miscellaneous site demolition as indicated on the drawings, including meter building demolition and removal of pavement, gabion baskets, and fencing. o Complete test pit excavations. A minimum of five (5) test pits shall be performed at the downstream toe to evaluate the depth top of bedrock. o Re-purpose the existing 16-inch water supply pipe to allow for use of a low level outlet and water supply pipe including installation of ductile iron pipe, spray epoxy lining of the existing water supply line, valve replacement/installation, and stilling basin construction. o Decommission original 30-inch low level outlet and 24-inch low level intake piping and valves. o Perform miscellaneous gatehouse repairs as indicated on the drawings, including floor replacement and existing butterfly gate replacement with new gates. o Place riprap on the upstream slope. Riprap below reservoir level shall be placed in the wet. o Stripping all topsoil from the footprint of proposed conditions on the crest and downstream slope. Stockpile onsite for future use. o Install dewatering wells at the toe. o Excavate bench soils and as indicated on the drawings. o Install mineral filter material on the existing dam soils. o Install toe drain, mineral filter, and rock fill cover at downstream slope as indicated in the contract documents. o Install loam and seed and protect slopes from erosion until grass cover is established to at least 85 percent coverage as estimated by the engineer. o Install modified rockfill where shown on the drawings. o Perform miscellaneous site improvements as indicated on the drawings, including installation of monitoring wells and fencing. o Replace existing pedestrian access bridge to gatehouse. o Restore disturbed areas on the site to pre-construction conditions. o Perform general site cleanup. o Restore access to the walking trails around the site. The Project value is estimated to be $4,800,000 The date of commencement of the Contract shall be March 28, 2022 Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000.
