Site work for a water / sewer project in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Please be advised the Town of Beech Mountain is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to perform professional services related to the design and construction of the project will address failing water distribution service lines (primarily 3/4 galvanized steel pipes with leaking joints and connections by replacing them with approximately 15,000 linear feet of 3/4 Polyethylene service line and brass connections. The location will be along various roads in the Town, with the goal of 600 service connections replaced. The primary purpose of the project will be to reduce water loss which is currently greater than 30% of water withdrawn. The service connections, which are a significant cause of water loss (due to swing joints comprised of a minimum of 6 screwed joints per tap. Documents regarding the Town's request for qualifications follow. Questions concerning this project may be directed to the Town of Beech Mountain Public Works Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00 PM at 828-387-9282. The Town of Beech Mountain reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, negotiate with the best qualified firm regarding fees and/or the scope of services or postpone the decision for an indefinite period. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
