Renovation of an educational facility in Binghamton, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 45,000-square-foot educational facility.
As of February 14, 2023, this project is bidding for a general contractor. An architect has been named and bids for contractors are due February 24, 2023 at 2:30pm. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Binghamton University is seeking a qualified firm to assist with the design of Science III Phase 1. The University is seeking assistance with the design of the Fire Protection, Structural, and Hazardous Material scope of work. The renovation of the Science III - Phase 1 is a critical maintenance, partial renovation of an existing Biology teaching/research lab and office building. The work includes the renovation of existing space in the middle portion of the building, approximately 35% of the total building area. The project will begin with the demolition and abatement of existing hazardous materials in the building across all floors of the project area. The majority of interior partitions will be reconfigured to meet new programmatic requirements. The MEP updates include but are not limited to: new HVAC systems, new Plumbing systems, Electrical systems upgrades, existing fire protection system modification, and minor structural modifications. When completed the project will have upgraded approximately 45,000 SF of office, lab, classroom, and bathrooms area.
