Site work for a multi-residential development in Grantsville, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a multi-residential development.
The Maryland Department of the Environment, Mining Program, Bureau of Mines Division (BOM), is requesting Bids from a qualified Professional Engineer experienced in mine subsidence evaluations to inspect and evaluate the Everly residence at 1287 Hare Hollow Road, Grantsville, Maryland (see map Attachments B & C). The work consists of the following: Landowner coordination to access property - handled by Bureau Provide professional credentials and examples of experience on previous mine subsidence determinations. Meet Bureau of Mines personnel at the Bureau of Mines office at 160 South Water Street, Frostburg, Maryland 21532 to review deep mine maps and the surface location of the Everly residence. Available geologic information shall be provided as request. Same day travel to the site and physically examine the dwelling structure and garage structure and determine if structural cracking is due to mine subsidence or other reasons unrelated to deep mining. Upon completion of the on-site evaluation, provide a written Evaluation of Findings Report within the contract period (60 days) that includes pictures of the alleged damage, and any drawings made leading to a determination as to whether the cracking is due to mine subsidence or other reasons unrelated to deep mining. Provide a discussion and explanation/justification for the determination. Provide a written paper copy and an electronic copy to John E. Carey at the Bureau of Mines at john.carey@maryland.gov. There will be no site visit
