The Council Chambers of the City Hall for consideration by the Clive City Council at its meeting on February 24, 2022. The City of Clive reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The City of Clive in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in consideration for award Work shall be substantially complete on or before November 1, 2022, and shall be fully completed on or before December 1, 2022. Liquidated damages for noncompliance with said completion provisions will be assessed at the rate of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each calendar day thereafter that the work remains incomplete. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as outlined in the Instruction to Bidders in an amount equal to Ten (10) percent of the total bid amount. This project includes all materials, equipment, transportation and labor necessary for water main replacement in the Rio Valley area. Project items include 7" thick PCC pavement, water main, sidewalk, driveways, traffic control, restoration, and associated work. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate quantity of materials to be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications.
