The City reserves the right to make a multiple award. FREIGHT INFORMATION: Shipping point and zip code: Water Tank: Painting inside the tanks includes: Repair corrosion spots. There may be up to 100 spots. Contractor is to mechanically grind and clean affected areas with wire wheel grinder and clear all dust and contaminates from the area. Place a primer coat and allow to dry. Mix and place final coat of epoxy paint 2" to 3" past the affected area, paint to be used is a NSF 61 approved epoxy paint such as Tnemec, Sherwin Williams or PPG. City staff is to inspect and approve the areas for painting, after grinding and cleaning; and before the painting. Painting the outside of the tank includes: Repair corrosion spots, clean any affected areas with wire wheel grinder and clear all dust and contaminates from the area. Place a primer coat and allow to dry. Sand and prep the existing paint to ensure new paint sticks. Paint two top coats of an acrylic-aliphatic urethane, UV protected, color to be determined. Paint thickness is: 2 to 3 mils DFT per urethane top coat Canal Pipes: Painting the pipes include removing the fans and P.R.V. boxes, if they have them, sandblast, paint pipe and all metal (fans and boxes) and then reinstalling the fans and P.R.V. boxes. Sandblasting will be done to the SSPC-SP-6 Commercial Blast Standards using a crushed glass aggregate. Paint all metal with one coat of epoxy primer and a top coat of an acrylic-aliphatic urethane, UV protected, color to be determined. Paint thickness is: 4 to 5 mils DFT on the epoxy primer. 2 to 3 mils DFT on the urethane top coat. 1500 W 12800 S, approx. 30 LF, 10" pipe. 13759 S 1300 W (lovers Ln), approx. 35 LF, 12" pipe, has two fans. 13800 S 2200 W Approx. 30 LF. 10" pipe. This crossing has a P.R.V. box. 13400 S 2200 W (Filter Bank) Approx. 120 LF. 20" and 10" pipe with scaffolding. Contractors will want to meet Curtis at this location to determine what needs to be painted. 13035 S 2200 W Approx. 40 LF 8" pipe. This location has a fence around one side so contractors will want to look at this. 13750 S 3200 W Approx. 41 LF 20" pipe, has two fans. 13400 S 3200 W Approx. 23 LF 8" Pipe. All painting (tank and pipes) will require Contractor to mask and protect all areas that are not to be painted; clean up and remove all material and site location after complete.
